Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. The songs she wrote were composed before she could write and read. Within 8 years she had her very first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. While she was a local star while in high school, her goals were bigger. After graduating from the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart from Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required an additional singer around this time. Parton was hired in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to Number. For the first time, in 1974.
